In the Dhokra tradition, every work begins not with a machine or a mould, but with a craftsperson's hands and a block of wax. The model is built entirely by touch, each figure, each gesture, each detail pressed and shaped by hand before being committed to metal through the lost-wax casting process. When the clay mould is finally broken away, what is revealed has the quality of something discovered rather than manufactured: warm, textured, and unmistakably made by a person.

This frame depicts four dancing couples across a single composition, each pair in a distinct pose that speaks to a different facet of partnership and shared life. One couple leans together with quiet tenderness. Another pulls apart with playful energy. A third seems caught in the peak of movement, arms wide. A fourth is almost still, grounded and unhurried.
